We had a decent day for the Kimball Invitational on Thursday, April 22. It was in the 60s with SE wind at 10-15 MPH. Performances were mixed, as both boys' and girls' teams finished in fourth place out of fifteen teams. Brad Bridgman won the boys' high jump with a jump of 5' 11. After securing the win he bumped it up to 6' 4 1/4 in order to attempt a school record. He did not make it, but his first miss was close, and he was jumping with confidence, so maybe he can get that in the coming month. The 4x800 relay turned in a nice performance, running one of the top times in the state this year. Caleb Crossman ran the 800 meter distance for the first time in that event and did a very nice job. Ethan McClain hit a state meet qualifying standard in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:30.3. He is coming off some sickness and injury, so it was good to get back on the track and get some work in.
The girls' team has been hit with a couple of knee injuries. Despite that, they had some nice performances yesterday as well. Megan Burma brought her 1600 time down as did Tricia Wilken in the 300 hurdles. Thanks to all who have come out to support the teams.
