The girls finished second and the guys fourth at the 281 Conference track meet in Huron on Tuesday, May 8. Kalli Quicke won four events - the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, long jump, and triple jump on her way to being named the outstanding girls' athlete of the meet. Megan Burma hit a state meet qualifying standard in the 3200 meter run with a time of 12:31.4. Tricia Wilken was also an event winner, taking the 300 hurdles with a time of 50.3.
The boys' 3200 relay set a new meet record with a time of 8:27.7. Members of that unit were Cole McClain, Christian Svennes, Titus Clark, and Brady Brockel. The old record of 8:29.6 was held by an SBA team consisting of Shannon Van Zee, Greg Motter, Scott Simkins and Scott Shippy. The other victory by the Crusaders came in the 800 relay. The team of Connor Beeman, Nolan Hamilton, Soo Jae Lee, and Chibueze Egeruoh ran a time of 1:41.6. The final regular season meet is scheduled for Saturday, May 12 at Kadoka.
