Results - Jimmy Rearick and Ipswich Invitational

The SBA track teams competed this past week in two events - the Jimmy Rearick Invitational in Miller on Thursday, May 3 and the Ipswich Invitational on Saturday, May 5.  A handful of events were qualified for the state track meet at these invitationals.

Jimmy Rearick Invitational
Mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 70s met the teams as they competed in Miller at the Jimmy Rearick meet.  Kalli Quicke was a double winner in the horizontal jumps.  She had a leap of 16' 9" in the long jump and improved her triple jump distance with a 34' 6 1/4".  She had previously qualified both events for the state meet.  Tricia Wilken hit a standard in the 300 hurdles with a time of 49.3 in a winning performance.  On the boys' side, Cole McClain qualified in the 1600 run with a winning time of 4:40.2. Christian Svennes won the 3200 run with a time of 10:52.6.

Ipswich Invitational
Rain predominated for the first part of the meet in Ipswich on Saturday, but conditions improved and the Crusaders had some nice performances.  Kalli Quicke added the 200 meter dash to her state qualified events with a third place time of 27.1.  She also won the long jump.  The previously qualified boys' medley relay lowered their mark to 3:47.8.  Members of that unit were Chibueze Egeruoh, Nolan Hamilton, Christian Svennes, and Brady Brockel.  Svennes won the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:48.1 and Cole McClain finished first in the 3200 run in 10:35.8.   The track teams next compete at the 281 Conference track meet in Huron on Tuesday, May 8.
