State Track Meet Results - Day 1

The SBA track teams had a successful first day at the state meet in Rapid City on Friday, May 25.  The girls set three school records on the day.  Kalli Quicke set a record in the 400, becoming the first SBA girl to break 60 seconds.  Her time of 59.81 was second fastest on the day.  Megan Burma established a new mark in the 3200 run while placing 6th.  Her time was 12:14.7.  Tricia Wilken broke her own record in the 300 hurdles.  Quicke qualified for the finals in the 200 and 400 while Wilken made finals in the 300 hurdles.  Other events on Saturday will include Megan in the 1600 run and Kallin in the long jump.

The boys 4x800 team of Cole McClain, Brady Brockel, Titus Clark, and Christian Svennes set a new school record with a winning time of 8:17.29.  Cole McClain place 5th in the 800 run while the medley and 4x400 relays ran the second fastest and fastest respectively to qualify for finals.  In addition to those two relays, Christian Svennes will compete in the 1600 run on Saturday.  Links to the girls and boys pages on the SDPB site are given below.
