The SBA track teams competed on Tuesday, May 6 at the Miller Invitational. Weather conditions were conducive to good performances and the athletes took advantage. The boys' 4x800 and 4x200 teams both hit state meet qualifying standards in winning performances. The 4x800 unit consisted of Denver Paul, Brian LaDue, David Paul, and Jaden Brockel, and they ran a time of 8:40.8, bettering the standard by 1.8 seconds. The 4x200 team members were Cody Buer, Seth Buer, Sam Clark, and Cole Buer. They hit a mark of 1:35.1, which was 0.2 seconds better than the qualifying standard. Cole Buer also made it to state in the high jump, making the qualifying height of 5' 10".
On the girls' side the 4x400 relay team took home a win with a time of 4:35.8. Members of that unit were Tricia Wilken, Staci Seaman, Cassie Beckwith, and Samantha Rogers. Tricia Wilken took a pair of runner-up finishes, in the 100 meter dash and 300 hurdles. Complete results may be found by hitting the link below.
