The SBA track teams competed in Gettysburg on Thursday, May 22 at the region 2B meet. The top two finishers in any event, plus any who hit state meet qualifying standards before or during the region meet, qualify for the state meet. The SBA girls had two qualifiers in Tricia Wilken, who placed second in the 100 meter hurdles and Alexis Lane, a second place finisher in the 800 meter run. The girls team finished 7th as a team with 44 points.
The boys finished 5th in a competitive team race with 87 points. Three new state meet qualifiers were added on the day. Seth Buer won the 100 meter dash, Cole Buer won the long jump, and Cody Buer placed 4th in the triple jump with a qualifying mark. More information will be forthcoming regarding the state track meet.
