Near perfect weather conditions met the SBA track teams as they competed at the Region 2B meet in Gettysburg on Thursday, May 21, and that was reflected in some great performances. The girls finished 5th in the team race with 54 points. Ipswich won the girls' division with 211 points. The SBA boys finished 9th with 51 points. In addition to the previously qualified events, the boys added the 4x400 relay with a second place finish in 3:33.9, and Jace Burma won the 3200 run with a time of 11:01.0. Members of the 4x400 were Jaden Brockel, Chris Hass, Joey Lane, and Denver Paul. The 4x800, which had previously qualified at the Dakota Relays, won with a time of 8:39.1. Team members were Paul, Hass, Lane, and Brockel. Jaden Brockel won the 800 meter run in 2:05.3, just off his best for the season. The other boys event going to state from previous qualification is the medley relay. On the girls' side there were no new qualifiers, so Alexis Lane will compete in the 800 meter run and the medley relay will also compete. Lane finished second in the 800 with a time of 2:33.2, and the medley had qualified at the Dakota Relays. The link below will take you to the results page.
