Meet Results - Ipswich Early Bird and Central Dakota

The SBA track teams participated in their first two meets of the 2017 season in Ipswich and Miller.
On Tuesday, April 4 they competed at the Ipswich Early Bird meet.  Event winners were Cailey Banik in the girls' 100 hurdles and Jace Burma in the boys' 1600 run.  The girls finished 4th in the team standings.
Sunny skies with little wind and temperature in the upper 50's met the track teams as they competed at the Central Dakota Invitational in Miller on Thursday, April 6.  The girls team came away with three first place finishes. Cailey Banik won the 300 hurdles, Shariah Brockel took the 400 meter dash, and the 4x400 unit won with team members Susan Wilken, Lindsey Wilken, Victoria Paul, and Shariah Brockel.
The boys won two relays. The medley unit consisting of Willie Anderson, Travis Hass, Chris Hass, and Jace Burma was 1.5 seconds from a state meet qualifying standard.  The 4x400 team comprised of T. Hass, C. Hass, Anderson, and Burma also came away with a win.  The boys' 4x800 team took second and missed a state qualifying standard by 2.3 seconds.
The next competition will be on Tuesday, April 11 in Huron for the SBA Invitational.
